C4 fraction

The C4 fraction, a mixture of unsaturated and saturated hydrocarbons, is a colorless and flammable liquid. Its composition contains mostly 1,3-butadiene, isobutene and 1-butene.

Derivation

The C4 fraction is obtained as a product during the thermal cracking of primary gasoline. U
the debutanizer column, which is fed with current from the bottom of the depropanizer stripper, is separated
fraction of unsaturated C4 and C5 hydrocarbons.
